Joyce in Paris: Saturday, June 14

  • 9:00 to 9:30pm. Tea & Coffee

  • 9.30 to 5.00 pm. Joyce in Paris: the Colloquium at the Irish Embassy. 

  • 7.00 to 9.00 pm. Dinner: Sunny Jim at The Polidor. We’ve made fifty (!!!) reservations for the first fifty people who sign up (fixed menu, veg. options). These invitations (unlike the colloquium) may include a partner or colleague.

Joyce in Paris: Sunday, June 15

  • 12.00 Joyce’s Paris. A Joycean walk led by the inimitable Peter Chrisp.  A maximum of twenty people leaving from location TBD.

  • 3.00 to 6.00 pm. Blooms’s Swarry at The ICCIrish Cultural Center with lecture “Joyce and Napoleon” by Thomas Bartlett; “Napoleonic Notes” on uilleann pipes with Jimmy O’Brien-Moran; and “Joyce as Doctor Manque” with Mark Lawler, QUB. Open to all. Guests are welcome to visit the centre, including the current Brian Maguire exhibition. The Swarry is sponsored by Boston College Vice-Provost for Global Engagement. 

  • 7.00 pm. Lucia Joyce: a Musical Drama in Four Acts. Composer Patrick Zimmerli. At the Irish Embassy. Limited seats available.

  • For all other participants - a casual evening in nearby Irish bar.

Joyce in Paris: Bloomsday

  • A Bloomsday Breakfast. Compliments of Ambassador Burgess. Details will be forwarded..

  • Later in the day, we understand, there’ll be some events taking place at Shakespeare & Co. More details as we get them.
